Fire Chief Ed Hadfield, has over 30 years of fire service experience, rising through the ranks from Firefighter to Fire Chief. He is a frequent speaker on leadership, sharing his experiences within the fire service and also with corporate and civic leaders throughout the United States. Ed is well known for the creation and instructional delivery of Command Officer Development Programs that have raised the bar of professionalism in today’s fire service ranks. He is also a recognized expert in: Fire Service Leadership, Truck Company Operations and Mission Focused Command Tactics. Ed was named the 2004 California Training Officer of the Year. He is regularly recognized in Fire Enginnering magazine, The Orange County Firefighter magazine, California Fire Service magazine, and Fire Engineerings on-line training programs and Blog Talk Radio (The Command Show & Crossfit 4 Fire). He has written numerous articles about Truck Company Operations, Company Officer Leadership, and Succession Development; and he has developed web cast and pod cast on-line training programs which reach firefighters around the world. Ed has developed state and regional Truck Company Academies in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and The Mid-West. He has been a lead instructor at FDIC, Firehouse World-San Diego, Firehouse Expo-Baltimore, Firehouse-Las Vegas and other regional Firehouse training conferences. Fire Chief Hadfield holds a Masters Degree in Executive Leadership, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and is a graduate of the Price School of Public Policy from the University of Southern California USC. He is a the 37th Fire Chief ever to receive the designation of Certified Fire Chief from the State of California and achieved designation of Chief Fire Officer from the Center of Public Safety Excellence.
